Mr. Mike Phillips is ASD's Superintendent. He brings to the position a wealth of experience, with more than 38 years in the field of Deaf Education. He has served as an educator and as an administrator since 1974 when he began his career working with deaf students. Additionally, Mr. Phillips has been an adjunct professor in Deaf Education for the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Throughout his career, Mr. Phillips has had numerous professional achievements and awards. Notably, he was awarded the 2009 ASD Employee of the Year by the staff of ASD. Mr. Phillips is widely regarded as a dedicated team builder and supporter of educational professionals, students, and their families. Mr. Phillips holds a Bachelor's Degree in Deaf Education, a Master's Degree in Special Education, and an Administrator's Certificate. All degrees are from the University of Arkansas.
